An amateur rocket gets into space in record time - 90 seconds!

This is a well established hobby in the USA & Australia and is increasing in popularity in the UK. I started flying rockets in 1977 - all homemade. A personal best altitude record was 1,076ft. Now you can buy kits that include engines, cameras and parachutes etc. Serious enthusiasts put webcams on board and have even flown them all the way into space.
