Monday - Friday: 9am-5.00pm

Any source of waves whether they be ripples in a pond, sound or light waves, they all operate in similar fashions. A stationary source  without obstructions will emit waves equally in all directions. But if the source is moving then the frequency of each wave depends on speed of the source and the position of the observer.
